The teams
6:10
And we have a winner - Chronotron! The rule was win 2 games and they won the first 2 times we ran it. I later ran it additional times and Squeemish Ossifrage won the next 2. And The Graduates won the one after. I never saw Team 42 or Team Twonky win, but there were many games where they were right next to the 3rd flag and clearly were a move or two away when they got killed for the 3rd time.
So pretty close between Chronotron and Squeemish Ossifrage and the others were close behind. If you want to run it yourself, here's all the players CodeWarPlayers.zip.
5:30
Everyone still working urgently. No one has provided their AI yet.
1:16
Pizza arrived, pizza devoured 3.5 minutes later. Also where before people would walk over, ask a question, and walk back, now they run. The time shift in urgency has begun :)
And one team switched to C#! My nefarious plan to get them all hooked on C# has claimed it's first group.
11:00
We have teams using Python, C++, and Java (J#). But no C# or VB. The no VB is not surprising but I am surprised that no one at C.U. apparently is using C#.
We have 6 teams of 2 - 5 students each. And the "Dream Team" that was all professors fell through (bummer). Interesting to see the different approaches - one is around the board game discussing how to move. One is at the white board working through their approach. One is discussing at a table. The other three are on their computers working.
10:00
And We've started. The contest (and code) is up at Windward / C.U. Code War. The code is at RoboRally.zip.
9:50
We're all set up waiting for the remaining teams to show up. A couple were here around 9:15 and a few more have come in the last 1/2 hour. But a lot will probably show up at 10:05.
8:00am
We start in 2 hours. Updates here during the day. Prior to 10:00 setup is covered at Windward Code War.
